Note, the image I provided for the custom installation was not from my exact installer. Anyway, after the installation I still have the Nvidia HD audio device/driver. The audio formats that appear in the Windows Sound control panel depend on the formats supported by the audio codec, the audio driver, and also the capabilities of the display being used. Therefore, I was hoping the Nvidia custom installation would remove the existing Nvidia HD audio device even though the installer said I didn't have one. In my case, I left the HD audio and USB type C driver components unchecked.īefore I started the installation, it said there was no existing versions of the HD audio, PhysX and USB type C components. I selected custom installation and only selected the graphics card driver and PhysX driver components. ![]() I then installed the latest driver for my graphics card. I guess that means I had the Nvidia HD audio driver on my PC that Windows automatically provided. After the installation and running windows update, I saw that I has the Nvidia HD audio device. I recently reinstalled windows 10 (20H2) with an internet connection present. ![]()
